About us 

Girls Run the World is an organisation working to empower young women in diplomacy and international relations. We run programs and events that create opportunities for young women to engage with the diplomatic community and experience what the life of a diplomat is like. As we look to the year ahead, GRTW is looking to expand what we do and, in turn, looking to expand our volunteer team.

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic writers that can produce inspiring, informative, and engaging content to promote Girls Run the World on our digital platform. As a writer, you will be contributing written submissions for our website based on research, events, and program experiences. The role requires you to write independently, meet deadlines, and participate in virtual meetings.  

Time commitment: 5 hours a week

Reports to: Blog Editor

Location: Virtual

Please note this is a volunteer role.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Writing long-form blog posts to be published on our website; 

  • Promoting our events, programs, and purpose;

  • Attending virtual meetings with the writing team and the broader Girls Run The World team;

  • Networking with participants, diplomats, and journalists.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Excellent written and verbal communication;

  • Superb writing skills and confidence in writing high-quality, long-form pieces;

  • Strong understanding of grammar conventions and capable of conducting research;

  • Fantastic ability to collaborate with others and work independently;

  • Passionate about gender equality, empowering young women and international relations.
